Power of Attorney
Armor Insurance, LLC provides notary public services for power of attorney documents that you bring to us. We do not draft documents or give legal advice. Contact us to find out what to bring for your situation.
How We Can Help
A power of attorney is a legal document, and its contents are between you and the person or attorney who prepared it. Here is where we can assist:
- Notarization: Notarial acts on power of attorney documents you bring, when the signer is present and requirements are met.
- Signing Appointments: Scheduling a time for the signer, and any witnesses the document calls for, to be present together.
- Document Completeness Check: A quick look to see that the document appears complete and ready to sign. We do not review it for legal sufficiency.
- Mobile Notary: We can travel to your location, such as a home or care facility, include only if offered, confirm service area and fees
- Attorney Referrals: Information on finding a licensed attorney if you need a document prepared, include only if you offer this, confirm.
Why Work With Armor Insurance, LLC
- A single point of contact for scheduling and questions
- Clear information about what to bring before you arrive
- We cannot draft or choose a power of attorney, explain its legal effect, or advise which type you need. For those questions, consult a licensed attorney.
What You May Need
Requirements vary by document and can change. Items often requested include:
- The complete power of attorney document, left unsigned until you are with the notary
- A valid, government-issued photo ID for each signer
- Every person who needs to sign, present at the appointment
- Instructions from the requesting party, such as a bank or care provider, if they have specific requirements
A notary may decline to notarize if requirements are not met, such as missing identification or an incomplete document. Whether a bank, agency, or other party will accept a notarized power of attorney is up to that party.
How It Works
- Contact Us: Reach out by phone, online, or in person to schedule.
- Bring Your Items: Bring your unsigned document and valid photo ID.
- Verify: We confirm identity and check that the document appears complete.
- Sign and Notarize: You sign in front of the notary and we complete the notarial act.
